Myer's Park Wedding in McKinney: Elizabeth & Ben
On April 21, I photographed Ben and Elizabeth's beautiful wedding day at Myer's Park & Event Center in McKinney, Texas. This was my first wedding at Myer's Park, and I loved it! The weather was beautiful, as was the lucky couple. Their friends and families came together to put together a beautifully decorated ceremony and reception.
There were so many great details at this wedding that it's hard to list my favorites. I'll do my best, in no particular order. Elizabeth made much of her own bridal ensemble by hand! I loved their non-alcoholic take on signature cocktails: signature Italian sodas. The baby flower girl was transported down the aisle on a red Radio Flyer wagon, chaperoned by four mischievous looking (but well behaved) little boys. I was grateful to have enough time to comfortably capture portraits of the bride and groom with their bridal party and families, as well as just the two of them in that state of just married bliss. I loved the mix of fresh floral arrangements with living potted plants at the reception. Since I'm personally obsessed with genealogy, I also loved the incorporation of family photos in their decor. I enjoyed seeing many familiar faces again, as Ben is Cullen's stepbrother, whose wedding I shot last year. The bird seed toss at Ben and Elizabeth's exit was fun to photograph, but a bit painful!
Hands down, my favorite part of shooting this wedding was my interaction with the couple and their families, both on the wedding day, and in all our correspondence before and after the event. I'd be hard pressed to find a more kind and gracious couple. Their sweet messages when they saw their sneak peek photos and again when they received the rest made my day more than once. Thanks again for making my job a joy!
