McKinney & Allen Wedding Photography: Christina & Andrew
As you may have noticed, I've finally been catching up on blogging now that we've entered the slower photography season, though I've certainly been busy meeting with couples about photographing their 2014 & 2015 weddings! Here's a wedding from the height of 2013's wedding season in late June. Christina and Andrew got married at Our Savior Lutheran Church in McKinney and hosted their wedding reception at the Hilton Garden Inn in Allen.
Their wedding party was made up of Christina's three siblings and Andrew's father. Christina's grandfather officiated. I think just about every immediate family member participated in the ceremony in some way. Andrew's sister did the reading, both mothers lit the unity candle, and Christina's dad escorted her down the aisle.
It definitely felt like late June in Texas on their wedding day. That is to say it was hot, of course. I'm so glad that Christina & Andrew were willing to brave the heat with me for outdoor portraits of the two of them! We captured some beautiful keepsake portraits on the grounds of the church before we headed over to the reception.
This was one fun wedding reception to photograph. The dance floor was hopping, even though they almost didn't have a DJ (long story). There were a lot of requests for the newlyweds to kiss, and the peanut gallery took to rating their kisses. Things got a little exciting when one of the paper rating cards caught on fire... The night ended with fire as well, though much more intentionally. The couple departed with sparklers a-sparkling!
