Remember that nasty ice storm we had back in December? Unfortunately it overlapped with Jason and Siobhan's wedding day at Ashton Gardens in Corinth, Texas. It would usually take a little less than an hour for me to get to Ashton Gardens from my home, but after the 2 hours spent de-icing my car, it took me another 3.5 hours on the road in horrible conditions to get to Corinth. I made it though, as did all of the wedding party, all of the other vendors, and some of the guests. Many guests couldn't make it, but those who could were treated to one heck of a gorgeous wedding. I enjoyed using the thick ice as a backdrop for some of my detail shots; it's a bit of a novelty to have something white on the ground here in Texas! I planned ahead and got a hotel room when I saw the forecast, and thankfully had a pull-out couch in my room for some friends at the wedding who realized that the roads would be even more treacherous after dark. There were many things that did not go as planned, but I hope Siobhan and Jason still have fond memories of their wedding day. Happy six month anniversary, you two!
I'm absolutely in love with the florals provided by Petals Couture, the huge, sparkly cake from The Cake Guys, all of Ashton Gardens' chandeliers, and the huge amount of DIY decor put together by Siobhan and her mom. It all came together for one incredibly classy, winter wedding.
