Branching Out

I have approximately no experience with video (a fact that seems to surprise people given how often I get asked for camcorder recommendations) but I've been shooting some fun little videos for my day job lately to help customers go behind the scenes on our big product shoots. My Art Director Renee edited this one together from our most recent shoot and I *love* it. I consider this my video debut! :) Keep your eyes open for the split second cameo of a number of my coworkers shaking their respective groove thangs. I stayed safely behind the camera, so you won't see me, naturally.

My Work in Print

Though I see my photos in print all the time at my day job as Head of Photography for Earthbound Trading Company, I don't see my portrait and wedding work in print form (as it belongs!) nearly often enough. Seeing some of the images from Cullen and Sara's recent engagement session on display at their wedding last night reminded me just how warm and fuzzy it makes me feel to see my work become family heirlooms.

Butler's Courtyard Wedding: Sarah & Dustin

I started off my wedding season last month with one heck of an awesome wedding down in the Houston area, with Sarah and Dustin at Butler's Courtyard in League City. I'd love to transplant that venue up to Dallas so I could work there more often! Of course, transplanting Sarah and Dustin up here so I could photograph them more as time goes on would be pretty swell too.

You might remember Sarah and Dustin from their State Fair engagement portraits and her bridal portraits over the last year. I'm so glad that I was able to shoot their wedding. For all that the engagements and bridals were fun to shoot, the wedding was the best by far. It was my first wedding I shot since I significantly upgraded my camera, and it's been really exciting to see the results that have come from that move. I'm so glad that this year's clients get to benefit from that upgrade, because it's made a world of difference, at least to my picky eye!

Dustin and Sarah, I know there are a million photographers between Dallas and Houston that you could have hired, and it means a lot that you chose me above them all. When you get tired of that humidity, come on up this way again, and we'll take some more photos! In the meantime, I hope you enjoy your wedding photos.
