Downtown McKinney Family Portraits: The Boltons

I love watching this family grow! I've been working with them a few times a year since their eldest turned 1. This was my first time to meet the newest addition, and I'm smitten. He's not camera-shy at all at 6-months-old, and was certainly more on board with the session than his two-year-old big brother! It may seem odd, but toddlers are actually my favorite age group to photograph. Their personalities are huge, and I love capturing that stage. It requires lots of running around in a crouched position and playing peekaboo. This little guy wasn't exactly won over by my charm, but I love the photos of him Not Having Any of This.

Adriatica Maternity Portraits in McKinney, Texas: Padmini

This session was my fourth opportunity to photograph Padmini, Ashwin, and their growing family. It's hard to believe that the baby who was still in Padmini's belly at their first session is now this adorable toddler participating in her new little sister's maternity session! Adriatica is always a great backdrop to work against, and I'm glad I was able to introduce this family to the area for their maternity portraits. I love working with Padmini and her family, and I hope to continuing doing so for many years to come!

McKinney Maternity Portraits: Allison & Family

In April, I had a blast photographing my Costume Designer friend Allison in all her adorably pregnant glory in downtown McKinney. Allison always comes to her shoots with props and hats galore, which is a little bit of a departure from my usual aesthetic, but so much fun to photograph. Some g-rated, pin-up inspired props and poses accompanied Allison's polka dot skirt and Cuban heel stockings. Then her husband and daughter joined us for some family portraits in the bluebonnets! Allison's an over-achiever and made her own skirt the night before this session. The white skirt she whipped up was perfect for showing off her sweet belly. I'm so glad we shot this session when we did, because not long after, Allison delivered a full month early! Her husband Devin, a medical student, actually got to deliver their 5 lb 2 oz little girl, who's doing great despite her early arrival.

Myers Park Family Portraits in McKinney with the Wiesner Twins

This Spring, I photographed the Wiesner family, including their twin boys. I think overalls are just about the cutest thing ever worn by babies or toddlers of either gender, and it was no exception with these adorable dudes. Callie did a great job coordinating her family's outfits. I love the red, white and blue used in all of their outfits with some variety in patterns. Though they look a lot alike, the Wiesner twins have very different personalities. One stuck close to Mom and Dad, while the other was determined to reach the treacherous ditch near where we were shooting. Definitely a shoot with lots of toddler chasing! That's okay. Running backwards in a squatting position with my camera at toddler height is becoming one of my special talents!
